One of his talks starts from an uncomfortable question: what else can I do to get better? With no track in Spain and no budget, Ander built an Olympic career by watching what everyone else did, copying it and improving on it. And knowing full well they would do the same with his.
The message transfers straight to a company: creativity does not show up when resources are plentiful, but when they are missing.

El Sueño,in Manresa.
He is the manager of the Fundació Bàsquet Manresa, where he runs projects that use basketball as a tool. The first one is called «El Sueño»: an open call to give a real chance to players who fell just short of professional basketball.

Nine candidates, one place
Of everyone who signed up, nine players went through physical and technical trials. The Kids&Us Manresa coaching staff chose Martí Raurich, a twenty-one-year-old guard from CB Cervera, who trained for four days with the first team.
«Giving new generations a real chance to dream, using the values of Bàsquet Manresa, has been the great success here», he said once the call was over.

So nobody elsestarts from zero.
From 2014 to 2020 he was an ambassador for LaLiga and part of the LaLigaSports team, running several projects. In 2018 he stood for membership of the Olympic Committee representing athletes and fell just short in a very close vote. He was an ambassador for RCD Espanyol de Barcelona and a member of the IBSF sporting planning commission. Between 2022 and 2026 he was IBSF vice-president for sport. Today he is sporting director for skeleton, bobsleigh and para-bobsleigh, skeleton coach for Spain and Belgium, and technical sporting director of the Spanish Ice Sports Federation.

Ander won the vice-presidency election in 2022 in Lausanne, Switzerland. He set himself the goal of moving the sport forward and putting his experience and knowledge at the service of bobsleigh and skeleton.
A huge challenge that he took on with the enthusiasm and passion that define him, along with everything he has learned in his other professional projects.
In June 2026 he stood for the presidency of the international federation at the Salzburg congress. He was not elected and, with the end of that term, his time at the IBSF came to a close.

Sporting direction
Skeleton, bobsleigh, para-bob and luge in Spain
During the last Olympic cycle, 2018-2022, he was responsible for feeding skeleton in Spain. Once his retirement was confirmed, he officially took charge of a new athlete selection process. In the 2022-2023 season Spain was represented internationally by nine athletes, four women and five men, making it one of the countries that contributes most athletes to skeleton.
He also took the reins of the para-bobsleigh project that same season, going from one athlete to four and making Spain the second country with most athletes on the world circuit, behind Italy and level with the United States. An inclusion project he had been turning over in his mind for a long time.

Spanish skeleton opened its first own facility: a demountable push track that lets athletes train the start without having to travel abroad.

Skeleton coach for Spain
Mirambell has been coaching the Spanish team for years, and the 2022-2023 season began officially in that role. His first task was to find the athletes: nine of them competed in the Spanish Championship in Sigulda. That competition opened new doors and they went on to debut in different circuits.
Clara Aznar became, at fifteen, the first woman to take part in the qualifying rounds for the 2023 Youth Olympic Games. Ana Torres-Quevedo and Adrián Rodríguez were the first athletes to qualify for the World Championship in the new Olympic discipline of mixed skeleton, which was only possible because each of them first earned individual qualification. On top of that came a historic Junior World Championship debut with three athletes, one woman and two men. A historic season for Spanish skeleton.

Belgium
Coach to Kim Meylemans
The Belgian athlete asked for his services with the backing of the Belgian Committee and the government of Flanders. The aim was to turn Kim into one of the best in the world. In October 2022 she suffered a terrifying crash in Whistler, Canada, breaking both feet. Rather than give up, they worked to come back before the end of the season.
Her recovery went better than expected and by January 2023 Kim was competing again. Still not fully fit, she put together the best season of her career: Belgium’s first ever gold in an international competition, at the Sigulda Europe Cup; eighth place and a diploma at the Saint Moritz World Championship, a result she had not matched since 2017; and third place at the Innsbruck World Cup, two hundredths off silver.
Kim retired in May 2026, aged thirty, after winning the overall World Cup title and finishing sixth at the Milano Cortina Games.

Learning to drive underwater
He called Clara Aznar, Adrián Rodríguez and Leanna García to a beach in Blanes without telling them why: only the time, the place and to bring a cap and a torch. What was waiting for them was a scuba diving lesson, designed to work on driving skills far away from the ice, with the sport psychology unit of the Spanish High Council for Sports alongside them.
«So that when they get to a new track they know they have the skills to handle it», he explained. He had already taken them bungee jumping blindfolded.

In February 2026 he was part of the Eurosport and HBO Max team for the Milano Cortina Games, appearing on «Villa Olímpica» to explain the differences between skeleton, luge and bobsleigh. Before that he presented «Insòlits» for La 2, and he is a constant contributor to radio panels and to football commentary.

#Zumbados is the project he created and presents: a programme where children who have survived cancer put their questions to a celebrity.

He has contributed to programmes such as Estudio Estadio and El Rondo, and presented Teledeporte’s nightly round-up during the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games.
With LaLigaSports he developed several projects, above all «Ander Youtuber»: for a year he became a youtuber documenting the road to the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Games.
